Short post

The evening got away from us, so only a brief post tonight.

About 2am this morning,  we finally got to experience the thunderstorms that we had been promised. Copious amounts of wind and rain and a truly impressive lightning storm gave Liv and I a good chance to scamper about and close things and tarp bikes.  Always a good exercise.
Sadly it didn't do anything to cut the heat, so we were glad it was supposed to be a shorter day.  A brief stop for second breakfast (and an even better chausson aux pommes today) and we were back to it.
Much of the route was on top of levees without any shade, and often on gravel. Regardless, perseverance allowed us to get to a campground that had important attributes,  a cat
And something we thought would be here, but with insufficient confidence to announce,  a pool-
Alex immediately declared tomorrow to be a rest day, so laundry got done-
And we then splurged and got the kids pizza at camp so we could walk into town on a Moroccan food date-
Fun was had, and the concert in town shut down before 11, so it is finally quiet in the campground.
Supposed to be more thunderstorms in the morning,  we'll see!

  1. Hallelujah for the pool! Those two happy faces from the pool said it all. What a treat to get to this camp after all that hassle from last night’s thunderstorm!
