Blissfully cooler

The heat hung on last night, but finally broke this morning allowing us some good rest. Since we weren't going as far today, we didn't rush out of the tents, so it decided to drizzle just enough to get everything slightly wet before we packed it up. Far from my preference, but not a tragedy on any scale. With everything damply packed, we went to the velo tourist room where Liv had first breakfast spread out, her regular pot of cut up fresh fruit, muesli, granola and milk we had been able to chill in the supplied fridge. As we tore into it all, we noticed a couple other velo folks who were traveling solo, and were on a much more limited version of the meal. One had a breakfast banana, the other some hot water... I didn't want to have to explain that this was our smaller breakfast, and our large breakfast came later. Everyone has a different interpretation of touring, I suppose.
Our route today was a lovely wander down a canal, mostly on gravel, but generally pretty tightly packed.
The last town before the campground was a nice chance to pick up more fruit and veggies and some simple supper, but we also opted to check out the local Chateau as well-
This is a 2 star campground, which means that there are no tables or special velo provisions, so we spent what we hope will be our final night cooking on the ground.
Tomorrow's campground has 3 stars, so we have high hopes for more fundamentals of infrastructure. Only 3 more biking days, and I am already starting to miss it. So many fun experiences and so much to see as we poke along at an unimaginably slow pace through the countryside.
