Stormy rest day

2nd try writing this because it all deleted the first time. There was a thunderstorm expected at ten today. So after a good breakfast, Alex and I sat out to wait for it.
The cloud formations before the storm were quite interesting.
The storm was very very rainy with some loud lightning strikes. We sheltered in the laundry room to stay dry. There was 2 inches of water rushing under the tents. Eventually it cleared up and became sunny so we hiked to see the cool Chateau.
It was a self guided tour which is always best. There was a very nice clock.  And there is always a incredible amount of math and engineering needed to make the roof stay up. Then we dried the tents in the sun and played in the pool. We had spaghetti for supper which was good.
Only one more day on the Loire before we head back up to Paris.

  1. An inch and a half of rain in less than an hour. Very impressive. Campground full of cyclists drying their gear on every hedge and fence.

  2. Lyle, this is a great post!! I love the series of you and Alex sitting out waiting for the rain. An incredible downpour! So great that the sun came out to dry your stuff.
And somebody is getting a very close-up view of the chateau floor. Love, Gma
